Jacqueline Fernandez (born August 11, 1985) is a Sri Lankan actress, former model, and 2006 Miss Universe Sri Lanka winner who works primarily in Hindi films. She made her Bollywood debut in 2009 with Aladin and has since built a successful career in the Hindi film business. Fernandez was reared in Bahrain as part of a diverse Eurasian family with Canadian, Sri Lankan, and Malaysian ancestors. She entered the modelling profession after graduating from the University of Sydney with a degree in public communication and working as a television reporter in Sri Lanka. Miss Universe Sri Lanka 2006 was her title, and she represented her country at Miss Universe 2006.

Fernandez made her acting debut in Sujoy Ghosh's fantasy drama Aladin, which she auditioned for while on a modelling assignment in India in 2009. Fernandez's first financial success came in the form of the psychological thriller Murder 2 (2011).
